A tool to verify content by showing its origin and edits.
Content Credentials

Content Credentials is a new open standard that helps verify where digital content comes from and how it was made or edited. It shows key details like when the content was created, if it was changed, and whether AI was involved. Just click the Content Credentials pin to see this information. It helps people understand what they’re seeing and gives creators the credit they deserve. Supported by organizations worldwide, Content Credentials is helping build a more transparent and trustworthy internet.

How Content Credentials works

1. Anytime content is captured, created, or edited, Content Credentials can be attached

Creators can choose to attach Content Credentials to their content, which may include information such as whether AI was used. Voilà! This information becomes part of the content’s edit history, creating a verifiable and permanent record.

2. Content Credentials are viewable across the internet

Once the content is published, anyone can click the pin icon to view its Content Credentials, which display the most relevant information in context.

3. Go deeper to explore the full edit history

Content Credentials can capture a detailed history of changes over time. The “Verify” feature lets you explore this information in depth and upload any content to see if it has Content Credentials.
